Running an LQ4 without o2 and maf?
I have been looking at my harness lately and can't find the plugs for my O2 sensors and my MAF, is it possible to run these motors with a basic program and not use these sensors?
Thanks

I have heard of them being run without the MAF and just the o2 sensors but never without both but I don't know maybe. If it were carbureted then yea but I wouldn't think it could be done with fuel injection

If I understand GM's open-loop and "limp-home" strategies well enough, you should be able to get by without both, since it should default to the MAP and preset fuel tables, but I dunno why you'd do without oxygen sensors in a system like this? or no MAP without an SD-only tune? I mean I could forsee it it you just wanted to get things started, but...

Hell, you can take a piston out and still make it run, but why would you want to? I ran my LS1 in my '33 without a maf when starting it for the first time, and several times after that, but it fouled the plugs in short order and then wouldn't even run. Just my experience.

You can run without the MAF and O2s....it's called open loop speed density. If you are confident in your tuning abilities you can make a OLSD car run fine.
Personally, from an engine safety perspective, I would run Closed Loop SD if you are set on running without a MAF.
