Default ls1 crank pulley onto ls2 crank

i am how far back the crank pulley from my ls1 motor has to go onto the ls2 crank?
looks like i have less than a quarter inch to go, but the sucker doesn't seem to want to move back. appears i'm stripping the threads off my used bolt trying to get it in.

Be careful you don't want to snap that sucker off in the crank....

Have a little ways to go to get it fully seated. The motor is outside the car...any suggestions to get this fully seated?
old bolt getting a lil stripped trying to get the pulley on.

Throw the balancer in the oven at 400* for 20 minutes, it will make it expand. We put the balancer on our LS3 that way, no issues AT ALL. Tapped it barely with a hammer and it seated all the way, then just put the bolt on because it has to have it lol.

Did you align the keyway on the damper? Or you could rent a harmonic balancer installation tool...It also says in the book I have "How to Rebuild GM LS Series Engines" :
To NEVER use the old crank bolt to install the harmonic balancer. You will destroy the first few threads in the crank snout

there's no keyway on the ls2 motor.

+1

Though I didn't heat mine quite that hot, it makes the install a piece of cake! No need to struggle with special install tools, damaged threads, etc.
