Generation IV External Engine - LS3 or LS7?

Okay, so apparently, there's a guy in town that claims that his 2010 Camaro was a "special factory order" and has an LS7 instead of an LS3. Are there any significant differences between the two that I could point out from the engine bay to prove that he doesn't have a factory LS7?

The sad part is that of about 50 "car enthusiasts" I am the only GM guy here, so they all believed him...

They did drop an LS7 in the concept version, I know that. But I doubt this guy has one. GOod way to find out is run him from a dig. IF you stay close, it's LS3, if he smokes your ass easy it's LS7 or modified LS3. Easy. Chances are he's full of it. Jmho.

Well, I'll find out tonight if he shows up, but my car is still stock, so I don't know how much I'd be able to do.

Well with your lid, and catback and weight advantage, there is no reason you can't run up to at least his rear fender if it's an LS3. Like I said though, if you can't even touch him, he's modded out or actually has an ls7 in there (I doubt he'd spend that kind of cash on that engine and the only way he'd have one is if he is the lucky guy to own the concept car). POst back dude. Anxious to hear. Make sure it's in the SR&K section though, we are picky about that here. GOod luck, I hope you redden his face dude. :D

its an LS3, but if you must know. look at the intake. if the runners are sqaure(ish) its an LS7 intake, if they are round, its a L76 intake (LS3)
or...look at the serial number on the heads

The LS7 has a dry sump oil pan which mean there would be a oil resevior under the hood...
