Default i read the sticky but still unsure

I was looking at putting a sbc into my 97 firebird formula. I was just wondering what all is required for that. do i not use my computer, harness, etc. do i have to buy anything else to use or run the engine?

it will have a carb and ill hook it up to the fuel lines, but other than that i have no idea if i need other things.

what about a sbc with fuel injection ?

Would going efi make the swap easier? would not have to worry about it fitting under the hood, etc.

shouldn't effect tuning or performance should it?

Well, if you go EFI it is not the concern, it is the fact that these cars are not meant for a distributor.

for the motor mounts, a fabricator made ours. For the fuel system, we ran a return style fuel regulator. Keeps the stock pump and works with a carb. Distributor gets a 12v source with key on.

Yes, you need some kind of ignition system for it to function.
