Default How big can I go?

Whats the most duration I could have in a cam without having to flycut the pistons? I'm running stock heads for now, and probably absolute speed stg2's later. I think they are just barely shaved, maybe .010. I have heard around 232 intake is the biggest you can go, but is that right?

It will depend on the lift of the cam, it's ramp rate, it's advance, and how close you are willing to come to the pistons as well as the duration factor. I would just get the cam I wanted, then clay it for clearance and then flycut if necessary.

What Cal said. If you are not going to clay make sure you go with a smaller cam or with a setup that is known to work. You may be able to get away with the Patriot heads with the welded CC chambers so you can raise CR and not worry about P/V clearance issues.
