Default Remote Bottle Operner - reliable?

I was reading this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/nitrous-o...s-yea-nay.html

and I noticed the date was 2006. I also have heard stories about the remote valves (not opening, not closing all the way, etc) back in 2002-2003 not working well.

Have they been improved over the past 3-5+ years? I'm thinking about buying a kit for my z06 and putting a remote opener. I have an FRC and i do not want to mount it in my window, so it has to be in the trunk.

If they are still fail i guess i'll stick with my hand.

You won't have any problems like that with our opener. Plus its just about the easiest out there to remove for refills.

We've never had an issue with any of the motors on our opener. For safety reasons as Mike pointed out above, we utilize 2 pull pins to quickly pop the motor off in case you need to quickly close the bottle manually. To my knowledge ours is the only one that can do this.

I'm surprised more people haven't posted their experiences with them.

My Dynotune opener worked (s) great, I swapped it out for an NX one when I swapped the Dynotune Bottle valve to NX (I needed an extra port for the NANO). The NX one I had to adjust the clutch on it (how to is in the instruction set) but it works fine (going on two years) once setup correctly. What I liked about the Dynotune one was it worked outta the Box. The NX one works, but needed some tweaking.

Anyone interested in DT opener I will entertain offers, Great opener, but I am not using it.

Not personally using one but 2 local guys have had trouble with the nx openers. They kept leaking on them. NX has great products and they installed one of the kits, so im not sure what the deal is. One gave up on them. Other is still trying to get it right.

i like an in-line solenoid style opener.
like this NOS part 16058.

but i never use it since i have the bottle within arm's reach. currently, it is used as living room decoration.
i'd let this thing go for $120 shipped, but there's a guy selling his in the classifieds section right now for $100 shipped...

Been running the NX opener for awhile now, only thing I had to do was adjust the clutch alittle tighter and it works perfect and one turn screw and it's off just like the other models

I used the HSW opener, it worked too well sometimes. Sometimes it would tighten the vavle to much and youd have to help it out alot. But i got to where I only used the nitrous at the track, so I sold my opener. If I needed it open for a random encounter, Id just make my wife crawl back there and open it
