Default What cam to go with this combo to hit DD 425+rwhp?

I want to sell my a4 camaro for a 2001-02 m6 camaro and was wondering what is the smallest cam to go with this package to hit a budget 425rwhp+. It will be a daily driver and I was wondering how the 243s would be on drivability and gas milage (hopefully above 22mpg). Thanks.

Stock 243 heads
Cam ???? (TR224 114, 218/230 .595 .600 114, or other)
7.400 comp pushrods
pac 918 beehive springs
ls2 timing chain
water pump
ASP underdrive pulley
SLP intake package
SLP loudmouth exhaust
American Racing catted LT headers
Vettedoctors dyno tune

Total cost $4250-4500

Gonna have to be bigger than a 224....
And a FAST 90 or 92 will help a LOT, mine picked up 22/11 to the dirt; that's peak...mid range was CRAZY.

Click my signature dyno link for a set of milled 243's with a custom 224 cam. You wont make 425rwhp with that size cam in an auto. I would probably make 425 with fast + udp.

What would be the best combo for a daily driver of these three to hit 425+ including the parts above? Also this would be through a Moser 12 bolt w/ 3.73s and a M6.

Searching for best MPG and drivability

Stock 243s and 228 cam
Stage 1 243s and 224 cam
Stock 243s and 224 cam plus FAST 90/90

Thanks for replies.

I hit 422 on a very safe tune with only 1 3/4 LT's and a 224/224 cam, LS6 intake still and stock TB+Maf. Stock unported 243's.

I'd listen to this guy, he knows what he's talking about. Awesome at specing cams.

I have a ms4 with my six speed I don't have dyno number estimate 470 ish (with heads) but it's idle better than my old cam that was 233/239 and I got 24 mpg (hwy) over all I get about 17 my old set up was stock heads ls6 and that cam I made 439 idk how or why but it did but also relize number are numbers it depends on how the car runs down the track. Btw I daily drive my car... And it's for sale so you know if your in the market...

CNC'd LS6 or 5.3 heads and a mid sized am through an LS6 intake should get you there. A ported 90/90 setup would help you edge closer or past the 440 mark.

ahhh, got ya..

i would suggest something like a 232/234 .600 lift.. thats if you want to run the ls6 intake/ported TB and stock ls6 heads setup..

will get you very close to what you want, maybe over?

dont know m6 number too good..

who cares about dyno numbers, at the track is what matters!

Well I'm nit sure that cam might with stock heads but I wouldn't count on it idk how the 233/239 made 439 I didn't have the underdruve pulley on at that time either i had 3" x pipe ls6 ported tb and all of that but I didn't believe it that's the highest numbers I've seen for that cam the next was on here with 411 I would try to go big honestly I'm a full supporter especially for stock heads the ms4 it idle GREAT! And drives awesome if you have a good tuner... I've seen'em pretty bad before...

i agree... but for 425.. you dont have to go as big as the ms4.. it will be easier to tune with a smaller cam and you will have more head choices down the road..

i loved my ms4 though!
