Default Do 315 Tires slow your car down?

Would 315 tires on an 11 inch rim slow you down compared to stock size?

very slightly but its not much. the rotating mass robs you of a few hp, less than 5hp/tq from what ive seen. but the extra traction makes up for it

Yes, like they guy above me said it is a traction -vs- rotating mass/friction issue. If you are going for top speed with a soft launch the more skinny tire would be better... ala...the tires on the landspeed cars they race in the lake beds.

You also have to take into consideration the weight of your 11" wheel. The rotational mass of some is lighter or heavier than others. So you may or may not lose very much power, but like hitmanws6 said, the wider tire will provide more traction to plant more power to the ground.

whats the point of having the power to start with if you cant put it down on the ground..... 5hp the best wasted hp if you outlaunch your opponent

I haven't noticed any "slow" feeling since I put them on but I do feel like I stop better.

Important point! If they fit under and look good go for it. It's way more tire then necessary unless you just have extreme HP but it looks good!
