Default If you have disassembled and reassembled a 4l60 come in.

So I have this guy on another forum asking how to swap output shafts. Going from 2wd to 4wd. He already has the input drum out but doesn't know how the output shaft comes out. I told him to remove the input sun gear and underneath is the snapring holding the output shaft. I instructed him to support the output shaft when removing said snapring or it may fall right out. Then just slide it out the back. Simple right, nothing else has to come out. Then another member is calling BS and says the whole trans has to come apart and the output shaft comes out the front and IS THE FIRST THING THAT GOES IN. Saying his tranny guys would love to see how it is removed from the back. I have done this 4 times so I'm no noob. Would some others with hands on experience confirm this for me?
Thanks

Comes out the bottom, just as you said, when the extension housing is removed.

Yes you remove the clip and it most time just slides right out. Ocassionally it may require a little tap or two, But its sraight forward enough.
