:( I bought the throttle body, intake manifold, and rails from this guy on June 27. I still don't have parts. He said his mother had a stroke and he had to rush out of town to be with her at the hospital. That is fine. I talked to him on July 1 and he said he would be getting home that evening and shipping me my stuff. It usually takes 5 business days to ship coast to coast with Fed Ex or UPS. Even with the July 4 holiday my parts should have been here last Thrusday or Friday. I have not been given a tracking number either.
Can any of you guys help me find out what is going on??

Oh yes, I have sent him several pms and called his number half a dozen times. His last activity on this web site was on July 3rd.
That is why I didn't start a thread in this forum sooner. I thought I'd give it some time to work itself out.

did you use paypal or did you mail the money to him directly? if you used paypal, isnt there some kind of protection plan to where you would get you money refunded to you?

I did use Paypal and paid using my Visa debit card. I have started a claim with Paypal, and I'm going to the Credit Union that controls my Visa card tomorrow.

This douche is a thief. I still do not have a tracking number or parts. I am glad I didn't pay with a money order. Paypal and Visa have been notified and claims filed.

$981.35 is a ton of money to me. But it is better than say $5,000 for a used motorcycle.

You will get your money back through paypal. They always cover the buyer unless you wait too long!

I hope so. But if not I can still escalate the claim with Visa.

If the seller does not have the funds in his account you won't get a penny back.

And then you just get a chargeback through your CC

It really is best to use your CC when going through paypal.. I normally just have paypal deduct it from my checking account, but for larger purchases I have Paypal use my visa. That way, I can always do a "Chargeback" if I don't get my parts.
I get my money back, paypal gets charged the amount, they go after the seller for the money.
good luck. I hate that this kind of shit happens

I don't see how he can be a good guy. He said his name was Louis, then the address he gave me to send the money order to was listed as Jose, then the Paypal address was listed as Steven .

I'm glad you got your parts. Hopefully it's not to little to late.
It's getting to the point where all large transactions will have to be done with
a credit card, so a charge back can be done for dead beat sellers.
Apparently there are no business ethics anymore. When money is sent
the seller should send out the item(s) imediately with a tracking number.
The seller should also provide constant communication and see to it,
the package gets safely to it's destination.

Paypal claim was cancelled right after I opened the box. The credit union suggested waiting to see what Paypal's action was. I was only going to escalate with the credit union if Paypal failed to deliver. No worries now.
