Default How to ID a stock ZO6 cam?

I bought this used cam but can't find any identifying marks/numbers on it. Is there any way to tell if it is a ZO6 cam without putting it in a cam reader?

NOPE if it did not come in the stock box, sealed from GM and even then, my buddy got hosed by GM...LOL you should just put it on the reader and have peace of mind.

Wow! Can't believe GM doesnt put some sort of identifying mark on 'em! Do most quality machine shops have the capability to read cam specs?

I got it dirt cheap but now I'm hesitant to use it.

Like I said it depends, My buddy ordered a "stock" ZO6 cam from the local GM dealer he got a sealed box from the parts department and ahd no parts number stamped on it. He kept wondering took it had it checked out, before mounting it and it was not. Granted the dealer made it right but it was a hassle.

If it has no numbers get it checked you might have gotten duped.

Uh-Oh. Looks like my "LS6" cam is really an old LS1 cam. Oh well, it was cheap.
