Default LS1 intake manifold on a 5.3 vortec

I tried to search around but could not find an answer. I have a 5.3 vortec out of a 2003 silverado. I would like to put a LS1 intake manifold on it, actually I already have the ls1 manifold. Im pretty sure the water pump needs to be replaced along with a few other things. Can someone help me out with the parts that will be needed along with any other modifications?

Thanks!

I would think that as long as you have a vette or fbody accessory set up then everything should bolt up fine. But yes the water pump definately needs to be changed to the car style due to clearance for the tb. You may just have to change the pump. I would call a vendor to be 100% sure. I'm sure they've done this plenty of times.

You can use the truck water pump. The top piece just needs to be moved over and make a slight dent in it where it hits the TB. It's been done before, and it's what I will be doing also.

get the idler pulley relocation bracket & belt kit, then run a Gen IV truck water pump. the gen IV 07-newer pump has a different water neck that clears the throttle body completely, no modifications necessary. The pump is a direct bolt on for the older truck pump, everything lines up the same.

I'm picking up an L33 out of a Buick Rainier and need to swap to an LSx manifold to clear my hood (going into a BMW.) What's the most efficient LSX intake manifold? I have to buy one anyways, may as well get the right one...

Thanks!

The ls1 intake would be a step down from the truck intake, I suggest an ls6 intake if it's in your budget.

They never put a L33 in a Rainier. If its a 5.3 it would be a LM4 or LH6 . L33 only came in 2005 - 07 Ext Cab Silverado and Sierra,

Question Upgrades for a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 4X4 5.3 Vortec

I'm looking to upgrade my truck it just turned over 121K mi. I want to possibly put a super charger on it and definitely upgrade the suspension; it has tons of power but I'd like a little bit more for when I take it in the mud or decide to pull my jeep on a trailer behind it. Any suggestions?

It should not change any appreciable amount. It only flows slightly worse than the Gen III truck manifold.
