Just curious, I know it's a little early. I've been reading on the HRM forum some trying to see if there's any news.

Yea, they told us that at Bristol this year. I was wondering about venues after the start date?

I don't think it's starting at Bristol, and I've heard Texas is in the picture since Painless stepped up as a big sponser. Just rumors though.

Pretty sure it'll start near Bristol somewhere! There has been/ and was a lot of talk this year of Texas.....maybe ending here or having venues, nothing is set yet though.

From the Hot Rod forum >> "My apologies, but schedules will likely change to June 5 kickoff date.

We're trying to get the cities together, but it will be awhile before we get it done.

Yes I know, that was gay. The guys at the Somerset trailer should have had a sign and should have had something in their brochure stating that somerset was in a dry county- that would have helped alot of us out.

Yea, or a sign leaving OHIO stating; Buy your beer now, next venue NO BEERSVILLE, KY! I wanted so bad just to have a cold one and wash the car. Then it poured rain on the clean car anyway.....again:(

The people there were nice but the venue site sucked big time...everything was too spread out...and no beer is the kiss of death..They should start it in Bristol a great facility to say the least ... and the drive into and out of is great ... :)

The 15th Annual 2009 Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour covered 1176 miles this year. That distance is about average for the Power Tour. It is usually in the 1200 mile range. It was the biggest one ever held. There were 1342 cars occupied by 2375 people who made the Long Haul and the total number of cars that participated on the tour was 4571. All of these numbers were the highest in the history of the event. Estimated attendence to all of the cruise ins was 69,000 people. I had a great time as usual too ... :D

Funny! I still can't find me!? In the Oct. issue of HOT ROD, I am in the pic' in the staging lane at Bristol in my Impala clone. The only reason I know it's me is the fact that I talked to the owner of the CTS-V in front of me while waiting and that Shelby behind me, to the left, blew me away!

Yea, I'm kinda hoping for Texas next year too. I'm a little biased though. I don't think everyone would enjoy our summer heat though!

has anyone heard anything new yet?

A quote from Jerry Pitt as to the start date. > "The official date will be June 5.

I know, I announced June 12th. I was wrong.

The cities and venues are close to being decided and we'll have a big announcement soon.

Thanks for the support.

-Jerry
Rust never sleeps."

During Drag Week it was announced that the venues would be announced Oct 1st, so if you can stand thr HR website it should be up sometime thursday.

I had to create a new UN as they lost my old one some how, "change" is not really a good thing. OrangeLT1 was the old one. Steve, 2009 PT plate Winder, that's me.

I hear they are to announce on the Hot Rod site next years stops tomorrow. I also found myself in the magazine in the staging lanes at Union Grove you can see the back of my truck with me standing outside of it talking to a guy about how pee'd off I was about my QTP exhaust cut-outs that the electric motors fell off on my first pass. Had to drive all the way to Detroit with them leaking...

OK, It's that time of year again...Tomorrow is the 2009 show once again hosted by NPD at Silver Springs...Who's in? As like last year, We'll need to gather somewhere before the entrance to the park, just past registration if we intend to be parked together. There is a parking area just to the right after you cross the small bridge coming into the park- I'm sure most of you will recognize me, but in case you are expecting the T/A, don't. You will be looking for this...

From Jerry Pitt >> "I know I promised, but we're still trying to negotiate rental fees with venues. 17 acres of pavement can cost a lot and we're trying to minimize that.

Stay tuned. I'll have more information soon. January 2010 issue of HOT ROD will include the information.
