Obviously the new Camaro is attracting a lot of attention. Ive noticed a ton of noob questions about the ls series motors and cars in general in relation to the new Camaro. Do you think its going to take sales away from the more snobish car guys like BMW and the average Vette driver because their car wont attract as much attention as a Camaro for a few years?

In short, no - at least not significantly in the long run. The Vette and Beamer crowd usually know exactly what they want and why they want it. The Camaro will generate a lil buzz for a while, but eventually the buzz will slow down and they will just be another $30K pony car.
We all follow the new Camaro, so it's easy for us to think that it is the center of the car universe right now. You have to look at the big picture, including the many different types of consumers and car choices available. Believe it or not, not everybody is a gearhead like us!

I like the misconceptions about Fbody's fuel economy.
We were at my g/f cousins house down in San Diego a few weeks back and he's like "ouch, I hate to see how much it cost you to drive that out here"
He assumed I got like 6-9 mpg. lol.

Vettes always have and always will attract more attention.

BMW's attract attention? Sorry, but people that bought BMW's before are for the most part going to stick with them. Very few people buy a BMW for performance reasons, most of them are women drivers that I see anyway, and just think it is a cute car. I don't think they really want a Camaro either way, they want a "sophisticated" german car. Most guys with BMW's buy it because they feel it has a certain amount of prestige, and I doubt these guys will ever see the camaro in this way.
