Default Water Pump Install Question

Hey everybody,

I'm currently replacing the gaskets on my water pump. The question is, how long should I wait before driving the car after everything is done? Thanks in advance for the response(s).

You shouldn't have to wait at all. Just keep your eye on the temps. After it reaches operating temperature and then has had a chance to cool down completely, open up the radiator and top it off.

Really? Good, because I thought I had to let the RTV cure.

You don't need RTV.

Nothing bad will happen but just the gasket would of been ok.

I have installed wp gaskets dry countless number of times with no leaks. As long as the bolts are torqued to spec and you use a little bit of blue thread locker on the bolts, you'll never have issues.
