No, that is about right The ls6's were stage 3 and the valves were changed. They were flowing some good air for their time compared to today's offerings. The cam is just right to complement the head and the compression ratio. If it was bigger it might of killed velocity and bled off compression and the car would be a dog down low with such a tight converter.

Me and Wayne are alright it's just some people can't accept it. We both were on 93 octane on Slicks N20, Titles to our cars Inspection Stickers, Lic. Plates Lights, Wipers, A.C., Music, Cruise control and all that it takes to be considered Street. Now reguarding that race, I initially thought you jumped, but partly becuse I could'nt see the flag man's light from behind, all I saw was you leave then Wayne follow. In the video you posted it was clear that you didn't jump.

As far as him lettig off I did see his brake lights at about the 900 to 1000 foot mark, but the race was over at that point anyway.

Can't comment on the number of cas it was because I was not at the end of the wall, but from half track, it looked to be about 2-3 cars, maybe more.

What are you trying to say here? If you are talking about the street racing, you can lose your life just as easy as the track.

It did not have to go down like that though...I am a big advocate of taking it to the track. The car overpowered the tires again I am sure, though I was not at that "event". It is sad, just like it was 25 years ago for me when a drunk kid standing 40ft from me stepped out to far in the street to see the race......he is no longer with us. The dangers are too many to list, but this is reason enough to organize and get it off the street. In the vast wasteland between no east and chalmette there has to be a place to do this safer, with tech-in system and abulance on standby. Seems like just a few months ago someone went up the levee and I commented on what would have happened if the car went loose in the other direction. Farewell to a fallen racer, and please remember him when u race, be it street or track. R.I.P.

I can understand that junk. Other peoples lives is what you have worry about on the street. The last time I was out at the spot there were people parking 2 feet from the curb sitting on their cars. All I could do was shake my head. Then when you tell them to back it up if you want to keep your car and your life, they look at you like you are stupid or something. They will just have to learn the hard way.

I remember years back there was a driver wearing a helmet on the street and people were pointing and laughing. He was just being very smart, unlike the people laughing at him, and protecting his head from hitting the rollbar.

As much as I love street racing and it will always be in my blood, I don't think I could participate in it ever again.

I didn't know Soul personally but as being one of the fellas "out there at the spot" we are like family in the racing scene and this really hits home and hurts.

At the very least I would expect our local tracks to get more business from the st. racing crowd. I still don't have the whole story of what went down, but u know when cars don't stay in the groove past 300ft it gets ugly real fast. My family giving me a hard time about our track rental next friday, but I tell them we are safer there, and we are. Ambulance there just in case, but the track is in better shape for traction than any street. My biggest concern was always cars turning onto "the spot" at the top-end, but even I did not see this one coming. Good idea to help the family, what can we do and someone post when services are:(

The man was street racing and it bit him. Sad for him, his family and friends, but we've all done it at one time or another and we knew the consequences when we did it.
Another reason to take it to the track. Although accidents do happen at the track, it is a more controlled environment.

It was not of his own doing. Yes we all choose to street race or not to. Soul knew the risks. But was trying to win a race when your car is out of control worth a persons life? the other drive will have to live with that one...

Hey Pete I agree also, Myself and Soul have lined up plenty of times. Soul was a Old Head in the game, My older Cousins first brought him around us in 1987 he was hard in it before then. This is what he loved outside of family and friends. They would call and we would hear that high pitched voice in the backround " I'm gonna pull your damn Eyeballs out, Line it up". We all had our differences when it came down to the race finishes but he was a well known and respected for his skills Man. He will be remembered and trully missed. A true driver in the street world. Maybe "SOUL's" passing can be a message to all of us. We all need to be responsible when racing ("be it street or track") because sometimes unpredictable and uncontrollable things can happen.

We all know this is a dangerous sport and many are not worried about the potential risks involved.....please think about the people that you will be leaving behind. I'm not suggesting that anyone should stop "doing what they love".....lets just do it responsibly!

Hey Pete I agree also, Myself and Soul have lined up plenty of times. Soul was a Old Head in the game, My older Cousins first brought him around us in 1987 he was hard in it before then. This is what he loved outside of family and friends. They would call and we would hear that high pitched voice in the backround " I'm gonna pull your damn Eyeballs out, Line it up". We all had our differences when it came down to the race finishes but he was a well known and respected for his skills Man. He will be remembered and trully missed. A true driver in the street world. Man that sucks. I have lost 3 friends this year. 2 from street bike accidents. Soul will be missed for sure. Prayers go out to his family and friends. I dont know any of the facts anymore then just what I read and I know not to believe half of what I read but does anyone know who the guy was he was racing at all. I'll be there for that. Although I didn't know him personally, my heart goes out to his family. I would not only pay respects at the funeral, but also be at Pep Boys. All about the love of the game and let us not forget that "NONE" of us are promised tomorrow, so whatever you enjoy doing, continue to do so, just be careful. First I want to send my condolences to the Brown family, RIP Soul! Though I didn't know you personally I did get the opportunity to hear you and your fellow racers "talk shit" Halloween night. Second, street racing is dangerous but it's a SPORT and most SPORTS are dangerous. I know what you are saying there is nothing like that feeling aka adrenaline.....I use to do this all the time, until my near death experience when street racing....I am not putting down on anyone for street racing its a choice....but you have to admitt its not like it was years back...there are more and more cars out there that runnin 10's 9's and some in the 8's.......

This happened before then we started racing on Chief hwy for a lil while then we went back to Haynes.

But that time it was a guy on a motor cycle.
We raced on Chief down from Michoud. And on Chief at the discount zone.

A total of two months then we were back on Haynes.

Well fellas, As a TRUE STREET RACER I WAS BY HEART AND SOUL. I would race 3 to 4 times a night for a decent amount of change. I feel for Mr. Browns family and friends and my prayers go out to all of you. I lost a brother about 10 yrs ago as a result of an unexpected and uncontrollable circumstance.....and I really wanted to point the finger at someone.

If a heavy equipment operator made a mistake or used poor judgment and that "poor judgment" result in someone death......I don't think the operator should have his life ruined as a result (although he will likely loose many night sleep for years to come).

This situation is different b/c as you said: "Vehicular homicide while committing a crime". Well the fact is we all have been guilty of that crime and this same situation could have happened to any one of us.

As far as the deleted posts......what can I say....he likely panicked (maybe another case of poor judgment, but who knows what one would do in this circumstance.

It is my understanding he didn't go out there with any intentions of "committing a crime".......he was "called out" and went home to get tires......then he was "called out" a second time and the event (that we all wish we could reverse) took place.

I'm just looking at it from both perspectives and as I've stated before:

It is saddening to know that yes this will pass and those that choose to street race will be right back at it.....The tracks are so close to the N.O area, I wish more people would make better choices...I know I did when I came so close to loosing my life in a street racing accident years ago.....and yes all parties will have to live with their decisions the owner of the camaro and the vette made that night.....It is just sad to see people put such a low value on their own lifes and the lifes of those watching and participating...You can not put a dollar amount on a life or for the rush of adrenaline you get from street racing!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that u were there spectating makes u just as guilty as the drivers (who by the way, KNEW the risks). If charges are filed, I will see to it that u are charged as well. People wanna stand on the sidelines and then talk about coming clean when it goes bad? I can see u will never be anyone because u won't take risk or responsibility, and u need both to succeed. I agree with you 100%....Its a grimm reminder of how things happen out there in the heat of the moment...I prey for all of those that were unfortunately involved with this tradgic situation....I am sure no one anticiapted this outcome nor would they want that! But when you cause someone to lose their life they must be held responsible regaurdless...
We have complete access to 4 tracks within a reasonalbe distance from N.O....there is no excuse for this to go on and to lose another life like this, as i said before ALL of you need to think of the inoccent FAMILY MEMEMBERS WIFES CHILDRENS PARENTS FREINDS BYSTANDERS ect ect....that will be affected by your death or you causing a death.....Just think about how you would feel or maybe your parents wives kids??????? Hey !To all out there I just wanna add the cars ran on the street are way! to fast unlike when we use to go out there,see it was just headers and geared cars now its 11' an 10 second car that is a little to fast . It will never work on the street Just my opinion .

What happened could have happened to any of us (and if anyone thinks otherwise....I'm sorry but you are mistaken).

They say the crowd did it. I beg to differ Soul and his whole crew are racers. They saw another car in the lot they thought they could possibly beat and decided they wanted to try him. Spooky was a competitive spirit also so this is what usually gives you a Street Race. 2 Racers+ Competitive Spirits= RACE wether it be Street or TRACK. The irony of the sitiuation is that it was a guy he drove for before, this is what F!&^'s me up. Bad things happened that can't be changed, now only learned from. The constant bickering back and forth only keeps tention going. Everyone knows what happened so do the Police, wether they do anything or not is entirely up to them. I think we all should learn from this and remember SOUL for who he was as a MAN and A STREET RACER. I agree with you on 1 point LSF the other party will have to live with the outcome wether punished or not. SOUL and I had a lot of differences with our race outcomes but he was real. When we raced him in SPOOKYS Mustang and Me in Mine ( Of course we raced in Mexico on a closed course.) His car got wicked and came in my lane, a lot of people felt it happened on purpose and told him so. He called me up MAN to MAN and said I would never try to hurt you or anyone else out here so man I am going to leave that down there alone cause people are talking crazy and I don't want to get hurt or have to hurt anyone either, but his racing spirit brought him back to Mexico anyway cause that is what he did. i had a good friend of mine a few years ago that i used to ride bikes with. he was older then me by over 7 years. everytime we use to get on them bikes he would walk a wheelie by far. he was one of the best i seen. i said to him man you need to stop doing that shit so much he would walk a wheelie any where up the high rise after toll down the exits on canal etc... had a near miss a car pulled out just missed him. i said again man you trippin with all that. he told me dont you race i said yes he said well stop raceing your bike ill stop wheelie mine i laughed and, he said shit i wanna be one of the best he said me to" if i go i wanna go doing what i love." "he said also that he knew when he die it would be on his bike"few weeks later he was killed doing what he loved. a old man ran a stop sign. i never raced my bike again. been in my garrage for over 3 years i just got back on it last month and back off it again. i neva said why i stop riding till now i made a lot of excuses to people etc... even went far as taking parts of bike so i dont ride.
with all this being said if i go doing what i love im happy.

I almost lost my life out street racing...waiting to pull out to race, on the shoulder, drunk driver hit me head on...ripped me from the seat belt threw me out the car, the car rolled over on top of me!!!!(one thing NO ONE left me they stayed even after the police showed up) I didnt race for many years after that....I did get back into for a while, then my car got to fast for the street and i stopped.......I value my life and others to much to risk killing myself or someone else, doing what I love, you get that same rush at the track!

alot of use go to the track. if we had a track in this city i thinkmore would go,but you know how that is. for the most part if linden would have hit me and killed me that nite we raced and he lost control but never lifted his foot.the street raceing still would go on after a short break. some cars are to fast for the street or just not set up right for street use as we see. single digit cars that go back and forth to the track or that been set up by madman need to stay at the track i heard that he does not tune for the street at all so that being said stay ya ass at the track if your car does not maintain itself on the street well

yeah when my bike 12o clocked on me with a 8 inch swing arm and i dont do wheelie at all. only thing i could think bout was him i busted my oil pan when i came down sliding but i did not fall. i got another oil pan months later this time on a simple ride home hit a pot whole cracked it again. bike sat for years after that my sign to get off

You guys are real class acts. I ask you this, we all knew Soul was a street racer to his heart, with that said, in your statement you're ironically referring to him. Think about what you say before you say it. People have died at the track. Death is unpredictable whether it be natural causes, accident or murder. I was utterly distraught and was close to blowing it up :mad:LOL. Nah, but on a serious note, I took the headers/exhaust, cam, nitrous, and alcohol injection off for some warranty work. As it stands the car only has an intake and tune like the old days.

Get the BMR adjustable rear bar, works perfect. You will have to weld in the top mount for the adjuster. Pm me if you want a guy who can adjust and scale your car.

Its $2020 for the track all day 20 car max the problem is the fast cars will not be able to run side by side. The only place to run some 9 and 10 sec cars with out a cage is Hattiesburg MS.
