Default 255/50/16 MT ET Steets enough???

Cam-only LT1/T56, stock clutch, stock 3.42 rear end
Best run so far is a 8.638 @ 87.20mph with a shitty 2.146 60' on 315 street tires.
Car is lowered on Sportlines, but I will be switching to Strano or BMR springs soon.
A local guy has a set of 255/50/16 MT ET Streets for sale new. I am considering them, but I am concerned that they are too narrow...
What do you think?

my buddy had those tires and let me tell you DONT be fooled by the smaller sized tire M/T drag radials hook like hell they mine as well be considered a slick and when you go streetracing and your on a m/t drag radial noone cares around here cuz they hook like hell.....so my buddy who had them was cutting 1.4x 60fters all day with those tires and noone knew it at all.....it just depends on the rest of the suspension.

We got trigger's car to leave wheels up on the street with 255/60/15 ET Street radials with a six speed full suspension car with 4.11s. The 255/50/16 won't have quite as much sidewall, but should be able to make work.

if ur car is a stick like u say. and ur not afraid of blowing the rear. i would go with the reg ET Streets instead of the et street radials. more flexin the sidewall, they can take the shock of the stick car launches better. but im sure those 255/50/16 et street radials would work also.

I used to have that same M/T radial and I was able to get 1.60's out of 'em with an M6. For what you are needing them for I think it's a good choice.
