The car was $30,000 brand new, full loaded from the factory and has over $10,000 in modifications. The car is in spectacular condition…exterior paint, interior leather and dash etc. Car has been garage kept since purchased new in November ’99.

The engine is in need of a dyno tune to dial the idle in. At very hard stops or when you jab the throttle hard and let off the gas quickly, the idle tends to surge then drop down quickly. If this happens, I just drop it in Neutral and the idle stabilizes. This can be a minor nuisance from time to time, but is easily fixed with a dyno tune. A typical dyno tune runs no more than $500, and I plan to reflect this in the sale price.

The chrome SS rims need a good buffing to get rid of some small rust spots. As you can see from the pictures, the chrome rims still look great, but when you get up close they need a bit of elbow grease to clean them up. I’d say thay are in better than good condition, but not near perfect as the rest of the car is.

If you pay the money for a good tune you'll be able to get much more than you'll get without it. With the good tune it will run perfectly and also post higher hp/tq numbers, enticing more buyers. Also, with a car that is close to perfect, an imperfect tune implies that something is wrong with the combination, perhaps that it is very hard or even impossible to tune it as it sits.

i hear ya. it's actually been through two dyno tunes in 10 years and after awhile, the same problem begins to occur. it will run fine for awhile, but then the surging begins. both tunes were done at speed inc. the dyno numbers were pulled when it was running good, so i don't think those would go up any.

or, i could not mention a thing and when someone comes to test drive it, hope it doesn't happen!

any thoughts on a price without the idle issue?

from the fast toys ram air kit maybe? that draws air from under the front of the car and it's sealed.

i installed the block off plate to disable the ram air and took it for a spin today. i went into a parking lot and did about 10 very hard stops and while the idle did dip down below 500rpms, it never stalled out. drove it around on the streets for about 20 minutes and didn't have to drop it in neutral once. i think that may have solved my idle issue. thanks!

any other input on what my ss is worth?

to be honest, i haven't posted it online anywhere yet, so i'm not sure what 'the market' would think its worth at this point? where i sit today, $15k would be the very lowest i'd consider selling it for if i had no bites at a higher price after it being online for awhile. i was considering posting it at $19,500 to see if it brought any interest and if it doesn't, i'll know i'm too high.
