Default 335/30/18's Nitto Dr guys in here please.....

What size wheel are you running. I know Nitto DR's run narrow, and have heard of someone on here running these on an 18x10.5" wheel. Anyone else doing this? Any pics? I've already got 18x10.5's...they have 295/30's on them and I hate then, so I'm looking to change it up.

I just put some 335/30/18 Nitto DR's on my 18x10.5 C5 deep dishes today. There's a little bulge, but it could be worse. I'll get some better pics taken of the rears and post them up.

That'd be awesome man. I would really appreciate it. I've got the 18x10.5 C5 deep dish's on my T/A as well. A side shot would be good too. You running a 275/40/17 up front? What I hate most about my tires right now is that the 295/30/18's in back look smaller than the 275/40/17's up front from the side. That's pretty much why I want new tires. lol

I've actually got 18x10.5" on all 4 corners. So, I'm running 275/35/18's up front.

Thanks man. Your back tires look way better than mine. Mine just aren't tall enough. I was also throwing around the idea of the Nitto 305/45/18, but I think I might go with the 335/30's. Thanks again.

Im running 18x10.5 on all four, 295/30/18 up front, 315/30/18 MT ET street 2's out back. Had the 335 nittos but they are junk compared to these MT ETs as far as im concerned. the MT ETs are still even bigger in in a 315 than the nitto in a 335. BOO

Actually, they're not bigger than Nitto's 335. Nitto's 305 is even bigger than M/T's 315. Just look up the specs on the tires.

Nitto's 305/35/18: Section width=12.5" Tire Height=26.4"
Nitto's 335/30/18: Section width=13.2" Tire Height=26.0"
M/T's 305/35/18: Section width=12.5" Tire Height=26.4"
M/T's 315/30/18: Section width=12.4" Tire Height=25.5"

M/T's 315's are about the worst way to go. There's no sidewall, and they're even skinnier than their own 305.

Everyone knows that MT's are arguably the best hooking tire out there. If that was what I was looking for, then I'd be looking into buying a pair. But I'm not. Not to mention that I don't want a 295/30, 305/30, or 315/30 because they don't have enough sidewall....**** looks stupid with a 275/40 up front. It's either gonna be the 335/30 or 305/35 for me, but I feel the 335/30 Nitto would probably be the only 335 tire that would fit safely on a 10.5" wheel. Nitto's aren't a bad tire, especially considering the price.

Id go with the 335s. The Nitto DRs are narrow.

I ran the 305/45-18s on my 04 Lightning, and they are nearly 29" tall.

335/30R18's are too big for 10.5 wheel. Do what you want. I just hope your reasoning behind why it is "safe" to run a 335/30R18 tire on a 10.5 inch wide wheel includes more than: "Some guy on LS1tech said it was ok."

Listen noob...I've had 315/35/17 Nitto DR's on a 9.5" wheel and they looked like they belonged there. I've seen that same tire on an 11" wheel and it looked unsafe, because it didn't look wide enough for the wheel. LOL Did you look at the pic of the 335's on the 10.5" wheel posted above? That look unsafe? No. It doesn't. Those of us that have been around long enough know how narrow the Nitto DR's run. You'll learn one day. Now a 335 BFG.....that does NOT belong on a 10.5" wheel.

Hahaha....easy killer. Sounds like I struck a nerve.

I did look at the pics above on the LT1 Camaro. The tires are bulging! Did you look at the pics?

All I am saying is that the tire manufacturer shows specs on their website of what size wheels 335 tires will safely fit on. An 11.5 inch wide wheel is the the most narrow wheel they approve of in the specs.

SO...I'm gonna say it again: Do what you want! I'm not giving you **** but I am telling you to use your head. Would you rather trust a manufacturer of the actual product or some guy on a website? I bet you can guess my answer.

Oh and by the way..... I own the tires you are inquiring about (335/30R18 NT555R). They are mounted on 18X12's and look right at home on that wheel width.

I'm not sure why you called me a noob?? But hey whatever makes you sleep better dude! I'm just trying to help you out with the question you asked.

LOL, no sweat man....to each his own. I just don't want to listen to someone else preach to me what's good or bad for my car. I've been through plenty of Nittos. They look fine on the pick above. A little bulge is natural....protects from curb rash.

They do bulge a little. And while it may not be all that safe for high speed cornering, or Auto-X, that's not what they're on there for, and not what I'll be doing with my car. As far as I'm concerned, they're perfectly safe for DD'ing, and use at the drag strip. Which is what the car is used for.

I love this statement.

You're a lot like someone I know, maybe you should run for president, because you know all the answers. And you can look at something and give a completely wrong answer and make yourself look like the smart guys to others watching, or in this case reading.

Funny how all of those tire manufacturers are wrong.

He does have a point with nittos.. I have also seen 315 nittos on a 9.5inch wide wheel and it looked perfect. Nittos run ******* small people, deal with it, they're recommendations are way off in my book, they're 315's look like 275's or 285's of most tires..

They are skinny, but not that skinny. I compared my old 315 Nittos to a 275/40/17 BFG TA KD, which is one of the widest 275's out there. And the Nitto was still obviously wider.

Just for fun, I went outside and measured my rear tires...

335/30R18 on a 12 inch wheel measured 13.2 inches wide.

Converting that to mm...it ends up being 335mm.

Take it for what it's worth.

There is a newer model mustang here at the local shop with 305/45/18's on 10.5" wheels....Nitto DR's, of course. If I get back there, I will take a pic......they look skinnier than my 295's on those wheels, and if it weren't for the bigger sidewalls they would look even more hideous than mine.

And BTW, I've also had 315/35/17 Sumitomos on a 9.5" wheel. Now THAT was f*cking dumb and dangerous. Completely different story than the 315 Nittos. This was back when I first bought the Camaro and didn't know any better though. LOL
