Default custom oil pan filter relocatoin question?

OK i am building a custom pan for my car mainly because my car is air bagged and the pan can not be lower then sub frame or it will go by by. so custom pan in progress. now it am trying to get as much oil as i can in the pan so im going with a more common wide sump. but the oil filter is in the way of any kind of good design. so i am thinking if i could remove the oil filter mount and weld the two holes shut and take the two holes on the side of the pan and tap and or weld bungs with like -6 line and run a filter from those holes? it looks there both from the same ports of the filter? here is a pic of what i am talking about.

There's an oil cooler adapter/hose arrangement, off of the H3 Hummer, that bolts to the place where the pass car "crossover" plate bolts to. You may be able to use it, and put the filter base where the cooler would normally hook up??

Leave the bypass block on the engine and use parts found in this link.

Thanks for the info, I may be able to use this too. I need a front sump for my tbird project and even the GTO pan would need some work to make fit, so I may just start wacking on the pan I have and weld a sump up where I need it.

Here is what I did to to a truck pan for a low clearance conversion -

Here is is on the motor - it holds 5.3 quarts instead of 6.5 like the truck (but the Camaro is only 5,5 Qts)

Check out the Lingenfelter store on ebay. I think they have what you are looking for.
