I am using a Alum replacement readiator with two SPAL fans and a Alum Shroud.. you should check the FAQ/Stckty at the top of this section for all of the A-Body conversions. (Got if off of a eBay store for $450.. but I think it has gone up from that seller now).
I am also using the standalone SPAL Fan Controller and not the PCM. I can change the temp settings on the fly without tuning software.

Bczee- That was a pretty killer find for only $450. How many cfm are those fans?
Jordan-I am using my stock replacement chevelle radiator. For fans I stole some off of like a 1995 Dodge intrepid for $25 at the local pull-a-part. The fans fit the stock radiator surprisingly well and they move 4000 cfms. I have them being computer controlled to come on and go from low to high. So far even in 106 degree Oklahoma heat the engine temp has never gone beyond 210.

It was like 3 years ago.. the store is still on there, but the price has gone up about $75, Its $519 now..... they are two 12" 1200cfm Fans for 2400cfm total. Many demand more, but I have not had any problem keeping it under 200 with normal driving and it may go up to 210 with the AC on in slow traffic. One good feature is that it has a port for the Steam vent to be attached directly to the radiator. They have a different number for Auto and Manual radiators..

i used an AFCO "A" body/LS radiator, nice quality, was able to fit 2-13" spawl fans on it (had them left over from another project) i have one hooked up to
the thermostat, the other is man. if needed-i welded on a 1/8 pipe fitting for
the steam fitting or whatever they call it-i use a vette front acces drive, and a 2000 Camaro upper/lower hose worked perfect-as i remember all i had to do with the upper hose was cut off the very end on the engine side, i think it belled out to 1 1/2", then fit the 1 1/4" outlet-the Monte radiator is prob a lot farther away than a chevelle
one thing to remember, if running a thermostat, pour water in the top of the engine first, (water outlet) as the thermostat is in the inlet side of the radiator, so it needs water behind it to open-i tried filling mine thru the radiator, dam near cooked the engine, lol
you kind of have to see what size in/out you end up with on the engine, bend up a wire like the hose might be, hit the auto parts store and browse thru the hoses, then dont lose the hose sticker, lol

For another option, check out the later (1996) C4 Corvette radiators. They are very light and work great. I used one in my RX7, which has much less airflow through the grill than a Monte Carlo, and I never had any cooling issues. The nice think about the Corvette radiators is that they are lightweight, inexpensive, and have the same inlet and outlet hose diameter as the LSx engines.

I used the factory replacement three core radiator with a new fan shroud from an '00 Camaro and the low/high fan relay setup that I found here. Seems to be working fine although I just finished the car and don't have a lot of miles on it yet. Even the tempature sender for the idiot light in the pass side head location seems to be working correctly .
