Default Starting my build, opinions needed

My 88' blazer is coming home this weekend, and i want to start planning my LQ4 swap. This is the trucks current setup:

TH350 mild build with trans-go shift kit
B&M holeshot 2600 stall
31 spline explorer axle with a 3:73 gear and track-lok
stock blazer electric pump with bypass regulator
Im assuming around 3100ish race weight, never had it on a scale

Im shooting for around 450rwhp thats usable in daily driving.Being that the truck was setup for carb, id like to stick with a GMPP or Edelbrock carb intake.Ive been lurking around for sometime now, and this is a basic parts list ive come up with.Feel free to throw any advice you see fit, im all ears at this point.I dont want to waste time or money

GMPP carb intake
750ish holley vaccum secondaries for drivability
130gph electric pump to replace the factory pump
some sort of off-the-shelf mild cam
supporting valve train for the new cam
plate kit jetted for 100hp...just in case

With these mods, what kinda reliabilty am i looking at if the motor has less than 100k on it? Should i mess with a different converter, or will 2600 be reasonable? Like i said, im all ears on this project, so lemme have it

You sound like me I just started on my LS1 TH400 swap 1990 S10. I plan on going with a 4000 or so stall in mine with 4.10s. But I'm not really making mine a DD style truck. The motor will be pretty reliable but if you wanna make that kinda power I would put a set of heads on it. My truck will be setup with a FAST intake setup and a 233/236 cam or something in that area. My car with a 6 speed with the fast setup and 232/232 cam made 426whp on stock 241 heads so something a little bigger should make pretty good power. I would like to use a set of Trick flows too and see what it picks up.

450 is my goal, but if i can make close to what you were putting down, id be more than happy.I was just getting sick of the sbc setup, i want to move on to an LS motor.Im just worried cuz i dont know if running my motor carb will hurt me more than help me.As for the heads, id like to keep this on the cheap side, since ill hopefully be building a L92 setup for next year.

I'd probably stick with a stock intake manifold over a carb setup unless you already have the carb.

id prefer to go EFI, but the truck is setup for carb already and im nowhere near a wiring guru.Id like to keep it simple and clean.
