Default Cage is in

I finally got my 8.50 cage installed, got the car back together, now all I need is a new harness for the Dr side & I can take it to the track & make my licensing passes. I even picked up a HANS device at the NW Natl's.

Not sure if my 27/11.5/15 QTPs will hold it, but I'm going to give them a shot for the lic passes. I'm thinking I'll need to go with the 28/13.5/15 QTPs or some 315/50/15 M/T DRs since I was spinning my 335/17 Hoosier DRs at 100mph making sure the tune was where I wanted it after the dyno.

I'm also waiting on the converter to come back for the TH400, so I'm hoping I can run a hi 9 with the 4L60E. Then I'll stick the TH400 with a T-brake in & make a full-on pass and see what it will run.

Been a LONG time coming!

Mark

Looks good Mark. When were you hoping to get it to the track?

I agree....it looks really nice. Oh, and I vividly remember the "fun" of rollcage spray painting. Thankfully, the exterior of my car wasn't completed when I painted my cage.

Thanks guys, the guy that did the cage does lots of the local fast cars - Super Gas, Pro Mods, etc....he does great work!

Last night I figured out all my SFI stuff - me & my car meet or exceed all the NHRA rqmts so even tho I'm not licensed yet maybe I'll even get a time slip IF the car actually runs a 9. (when they kick you off up here they don't give you a slip)

I'm only planning to make 1 pass since I still have the 4L60 in the car - waiting for the converter to come back fo the TH400. sigh

Wow that's crazy that you don't get a slip if you're not meeting req's. What if you're right on the edge of a class, do they still boot ya?

those pics are great, and what I needed to see. I have been debating between a 6 point or a 10 point and this just made my decision. I like that you can still lock the t-tops and able to take them out whenever. Car looks great.

Is it a wolf cage?

Is there any reasons why people choose their rear bar setup- over the back seats or to the plastic areas? is this preference or is one better than the other?

Wolf is having a 30% off anything over 1,000 and the cage comes to 1,074 with the jig notching for the cromoly? This sounds like a great deal.

Wolf's cages and bars are very nice. They fit well and the jig notching helps a ton.

Rear bars going to wheel wells are not nhra legal. Rear bars going to floor pan, above frame rail on 6"x6" plates are legal.

I finally got my car to the track yesterday. I only made one pass, but it was a keeper! (the car & I aren't legal yet)

9.878 @ 139.78 with a weak 1.502 60'

Power!

Awesome Mark. That had to be a great feeling even if it was only one pass. Good work. FWIW, I got booted off the track on Friday myself.
