Default Valley cover

Is the only difference in an LS1 valley cover and an LS2 cover the holes for the knock sensor wiring?

No. The LS2 valley cover will not work on an LS1 due to differences in the way the oil pressure sensor mounts and interference issues with pre-02 blocks.

u sure about that? i run a 04 vette 5.7 block with a LS2 vented valley pan. i only had to lower the length of the bolts for the plastic vent, and remove the alublock inside the valley. it was a hour of modifications.. it works great for my supercharger setup.

you will have two holes open on the LS1 valley cover for the knock sensors. the LS2 doesnt have those holes and you will have open oil passages from the lifters. the LS2 cover has seals for those holes which are made for DOD on other RPOs not used on the LS2 but they are there in the block

I knew about the Knock sensor. I was going to TIG weld aluminum over them shut.
I didn't know about the oil passages, but I have heard you can have them tapped and plugged? The other issue is someone meantioned the oil pressure sensor. I haven't looked in to that yet!

yeah you can have them tapped and plugged. im not sure about the press sender whether it lines up ot not on the LS2/3 the oil for the sender flows through the cover but it is in the same area. why arent you going to just run and LS2/3 cover?
