I believe all the ones listed above are provided through the serial data wire/cable EXCEPT the oil pressure which comes straight from the sensor to the cluster on the Fbodies if I remember correctly.

I searched and searched thru all my hot rods, and popular hot rodding, but one of those two did a mustang ls1 swap and the cluster as well, and it was said that the cluster swap was straightforward and helped a bunch. Try their websites.

I would have used the wiring from a F-body and ran it from the connectors and the gauges..

Finally was able to get my instrument cluster to operate via the serial data wire. All the gauges are working except the fuel level which I'm still working on (need to add a pin to PCM which grounds the fuel sender). I took my 3rd gen cluster diagrams and hooked them up to the cluster along with the serial data wire from the LS1 PCM as follows:

3rd gen connectors that go to cluster

Incorporated to 4th gen cluster pin outs as follows:
A3 PNK 39 Ignition Power...to 3rd gen Clear Connenctor #2 or #6 Pnk w/Black
A5 TAN/WHT...to 3rd gen Clear Connenctor #7 Brake Reservoir Sensor
A8 BRN/WHT 419 SES light to
A10 ORN 640 Constant Battery 12v
A12LT BLU 14 Left Turn Signal Lamps...to 3rd Gen Black Connector #8
A13 PPL/WHT 237 Instrument Panel Lamp Control ??????
A17 LT GRN 11 Headlamp High Beam... to 3rd Gen Black Connector #10
B1 BRN 9 Park Lamp Supply Voltage...Power w/parking lights
B3 GRY 728 Security Indicator Control (Not used)
B5 PPL/WHT 1035 Starter Coil Supply Voltage...Hot in start, yellow wire from Ign, Switch
B6 GRY 1036 IPC Class 2 Serial Data...from LS1 PCM
B7 ORN/BLK737 Trunk Lamp Control (Not used)
B8 DK GRN/WHT 817 VSS Signal..from LS1 PCM
B9 GRY 8 Instrument Panel Lamp Supply Voltage ??? Lamps form Dimmer
B10 DK BLU 15 Right Turn Signal Lamps...to 3rd gen Clear Connenctor #12
B11 BLK 650 Ground....to 3rd gen Clear Connenctor #9 or or Black Connector #10
B14 TAN 31 Oil Pressure Indicator Control...from LS1 oil sending unit
B15 BLK 650 Ground... to 3rd gen Clear Connenctor #9 or Black Connector #10

now for the pics.

Why not get a gauge panel from http://www.florida50.com/ and run aftermarket gauges.

does the pcm read the oil pressure sensor, and i only have one coolant temp sensor in the drivers side head[ this is used for the pcm to turn on the fan and stuff right.

might just sell the plug anf cluster and do autometer stuff

TPI TERR......What if I want to go the other way around. I want to use the 3rd gen gauge cluster.

Ur case u wired the 3rd gen connector to LS1 connector for power , gnd and other stuff that dont come thru the serial data cable.

I am trying to connecto wires from the LS1 gauge connector to the 2 3rd gen conn and use the stock gauge cluster and not the LS1 gauge cluster.

rpm
Should come from the serial data wire

speed
This is a dark grn/white wire. On C220 pin K

water temp
Not for sure about this one. It may come straight from the sensor itself, and not even go to the PCM.

oil pressure
This will be on connector C220 pin A.
volt

fuel
This will come from the sending unit right behind the tank. Maybe someone will know the exact color wire.
There ya go hope that is what your looking for.

PCM needs the water temp sensor (ECT), that's how the PCM controls the fans, it also needs ECT for fuel calculations... I do not remember exactly, but somewhere along the way, if i'm not mistaken, the ETC became another Class II Data item. If you can get the pin on the cluster, you need to get a 3 wire temp sensor, GM sells them and you can search the p/n. one of the wires is reference, one is for PCM, the other you run to the cluster... You will have to check to see if your 2000 Cluster has a Class II water temp gauge.

In case you hadn't heard this before, the water temp gauge will show more "trends" than anything, if you were to compare the gauge to the reading you get from the PCM (using a scanner) it's not going to be exact (sometimes it's off by 30+ degrees)...Looks like an interesting build!
