track times??? whats going on?

track times??? whats going on? Ok, I am about to give up on the racing thing it seems to me my car just does not want to run anymore. it ran a 13.1@107 w/ a 1.9 60' with just a lid, 3.42's and hpp3. I went to the track last night with a st3500, and draglites and the best I pulled off was a 13.1@104 with a 1.8 60' and 8.3 1/8 mile whats wrong with my car? The car pulled off a 12.9 in the summer and last night I was stuck in 13.1. whats going on?
The car was on some weld draglites on all 4 corners and 15x3.5 in front 15x10 in back w/ 26x11.5 in e.t. streets
I think the da was around 900 or so the cars were covered in mist. but could this still be the main cause of my track times? I was expecting to drop quite a bit since i did a little bit of weight reduction.???

so you all think TM has a big role in my times? But i always thought that it didn't really affect the earlier cars since mine is a 99. what do u all think? could it have been the weather?

your short times should be closer to 1.6-1.7 with your converter, and would have to see the slip to tell if you are losing power up top or just slow through the whole run. at 108mph, I was pulling 12.4's with a 1.7 60', without any weight savings, on just nittos and WS6 17" wheels.

The converter will eat up hp that's why your mph is down. What gears do you have? The stator on your TC may not be enough for the gears you have resulting in so-so 60's. A set of LT's and cut-out will get your MPH back and help out your times a lot.

A good converter will always PICK UP mph over a stock converter, not drop it. Even if the higher stalling converter isn't quite as efficient, it keeps the engine in it's best power ALOT better than a stock converter, thereby leading to higher trap speeds.
I think he has a real power loss and should get Autotapped to figure out why. Dyno tuning wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I wouldn't do that until I'd narrowed the problem down to the converter. The ST3500 is a very strong converter if it's working properly. Make sure everything else is working right first.
