Question can this be my oil leak??

I have been fighting an oil leak (more like pour) for about a month now. Thought it was the rear seal, replaced it, no change. Looked all over for a cracked block, I don't see anything. Someone at work told me to check the oil sending unit, he said if they crack it will pour out a hell of alot of oil. I can see a trail of oil coming from the top of my bellhousing, but then lose it. Put in a junkyard ls1 about a year ago. Oil sending unit never worked, when you crack the car it pegs out. But lately it never comes off 0. How likely is this my problem? Going too be a pain in the *** to replace.

Not really you can take it off if u have the right tools. without pulling the intake. Just check your autoparts store they sell a socket made for it
