Default cam question for boost

going with a procharger soon, I was wondering just how bad it would be if I left my cam in there, I have 226/230 @ 112 lsa I know the lsa should be a bit higher for FI but just wondering. Is it a killer on hp?

kina wondering the same on my heads. I have ls6 stage 2 patriot heads milled to 59 cc.....how bad is it if you rund a procharger through these heads? I know Im supposed to go with some 317's but again just wanted to see if you guys ever ran something like that, and what the out come was

I would run it. Just my opinion. I think the lsa importance is more for turbo, not supercharged.

I think the cam and springs will be fine. Lsa is more for turbo applications. The cc of the heads isnt a big deal either just wont be able to run much boost on pump gas due to the high compression .. maybe get a meth setup.

I run 241's...I suggest, and plan on for myself going with 317's very shortly....you can probably mill out the combustion chambers a little on your current heads. The cam and springs should be ok...i've got a 226-232 .608/.603 on a 112.95lsa (basicly 113)..LSA isnt AS big of a deal with blowers as turbos but at the same time its deff not optimal. How much boost do you want to run?....you might be able to trade someone those heads for 317's....those are pretty sought after heads...

well Im going to stay around 550 hp or so, see now I am still running a stock bottom end, eventually I would want to run 10 to 12 lbs my goals are around 650 to 700 hp, like I said eventually. I spent 1300 on the heads with arp bolts and titanium retainers, so I really dont want to trade someone straight up for them....I guess my question is what would you do? run the procharger with these heads? or dont even bother and get 317's, I am knew to FI so excuse my newbie questions, reason for these questions is because I am about to order the D1 and wanted to throw it on as soon as I got it, but from the research I have done on here my setup aint really what ppl use for FI, I didnt want to let a brand new procharger sit while I rack up some more funds for heads and boost cam, let me know what you guys think......thanks!!!

If you take into consideration that stock LS2 engines run just fine at 8 psi of boost, and your cam has some overlap in it, I'd say you would be okay with your current combination at 8 psi. Bob

Yes, I don't see it being a problem making 550 rwhp. Bob
