You will not likely find an OEM Firehawk hood unless the car was wrecked. I'd just scour that Parts Classifieds section to see if one pops up.

If you want an OEM Firehawk hood go to GM Restoration Parts. I know GM at least used to carry all of the Firehawk body parts there without any strings attached. If you're getting a either a Firehawk/Superhawk or Raptor hood you're probably be best off getting a Superhawk hood.

Last i checked, gm restoration said that the hood was discontinued and unavailable for purchase. I could be wrong. The Mecham hoods are kick-***! I've only seen one in person but the owner said that there was a lot of work he had to do in order to fit properly though?!

Isn't the superhawk hood the same as the Ram Air HO hood from SLP?

I want a Firehawk hood for my car. Im willing to wait to find one. I also like the original Superhawk and mechams, but not the new ones. Although Trusts car does look sick with it.

You will have to get the Raptor hood. The Firehawk hood requires a unique fascia that has been discontinued from SLP. The Raptor hood is available here :http://www.suncoastramairhoods.com/e...?productID=371

You dont need that. You can just trim the stock bumper.

True, only in the nostril/nose area.
SLP used the standard front bumper & simply trimmed it back to fit the Firehawk hood.
There are three photos here in the center line of photos that show the area trimmed. (Yes, that's an SLP HO hood shown in the first photo on the left, but it still has the stock front bumper shown with the line in the area that is trimmed.)

Firehawk hood's are extremely hard to find. And I'd like to see someone actually order one from GM Restoration parts & see what happens.
Superhawk hood would be hard to come by also.

Raptor should be readily available from Suncoast Creations.

You probably shouldn't be spreading false information. But will hopefully learn something new so it doesn't spread any further.

Whats the difference between the original firehawk hood and raptor hood? They look the same to me in the pics and I have an original firehawk hood lol. It says you can order the heat extractor vents so besides that what is the diff?

Raptor is basically just a replica of the firehawk hood. As mentioned firehawk hook requires trimming, so if you don't own a firehawk I'm not sure why you would need a firehawk hood when the raptor hood looks so similar. The heat extractors on the raptor hood really aren't visible anyways, I believe they just let heat dissipate near the back where the hood meets the windshield area.

I'd have a raptor hood if I had the money

I think the firehawk is sleeker and flows better with the body lines. Raptor is taller.
