Default 1985 T/A restoration.

My friend baught an 85 T/A with a 5.0 H.O 5-speed for $800 about a year ago. He's thinking about selling it because he doesn't want to spend the time and money to fix it. The mechanical aspect of the car is pretty solid, it just has a buch of electrical issues and minor cooling problems.

I was wondering if anybody knew any good places to get 3rd gen parts?

The biggest concerns is the cooling, its needs the air dam and fan shrouds. In terms of electrical, lets just say the car has only 6 sparks plugs for the whole car, the past owner did some work to it and we don't know what exactly he did to it.

Thumbs up

Hell yes:

- ebay/ebay Motors
- Classifieds on thirdgen.org
- Junkyard search at carpart.com
- Gmpartsdirect.com

GM made so many 3rd gens that parts were fairly plentiful when I owned mine (3-4 years ago).

Junk yard is your best bet because it's local and they usually have quite a few thirdgens in there. Being everything is compatible from camaros and firebirds, that helps a lot in finding what your looking for.

If you can't find anything there THIRDGEN.ORG is your next best choice for specific/hard to find items.
