Default Aluminum with steel fittings?

I am in the process of building/buying parts for my power steering lines.

All of the fittings are steel except this piece:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AER-FBM2240/

I can only find it in aluminum. Is it ok to use this piece in conjunction with the steel fittings/pieces, or is there some rule/law that tells me I shouldn't that I don't know about?

You can mix/match AN 37 degree (aerospace-std aluminum) fittings with JIC 37 degree (Joint Industrial Committee) fittings. The major difference besides material is that the AN fittings are UNF-J thread. A no-no to mix them on airplanes, but ok in automotive or industrial use. JIC are steel, widely available and usually much less than half the cost of AN. You can get JIC fittings and SAE-spec hose at your local industrial supply house (Grainger, McMaster-Carr, Western Hydraulic, etc). Parker "26-series" JIC fittings are a good place to start.

I think this is the piece you are looking for. Pegasus is awesome for fittings.

So what I am getting from that is that I should be ok for my use then.

Yea, that's the fitting I need. I saw that, but I was also just curious, partially because of the cost and the convenience of being able to get everything from the same place at summit.

thanks.

*Edit*

Looks like I am going to have to order from pegasus afterall, since summit is out of stock on one of their other fittings that I needed. $5 dollars more for the same fitting. Not much, but not necessary extra spending
