Default Got her

Just picked up my 05 V last night!! coming from a few late model Zs it's new and familiar territory for me at the same time. What's the best if any fix for the stereo ***** ad buttons? And where's the best place to get a new navi DVD? Or keys as well cuz I only got one where can I get the fancy emblem key and a fob other than the cadi dealer?

You can get replacement stereo buttons from Luke @ Lindsay Cadillac (703) 647-8670

You can get a nav disc at gmnavdisc.com, or pm heavymetals, he might be able to find you one.

Congrats on the new ride!

Cool thanks. Are there any replacements out there that won't flake later like stock?

Not that I know of. I think if you're careful with them and make sure your hands aren't grimy and greasy when you use them, they will last longer.

I bought my car when it was 3 years old and the buttons and ***** were pretty beat up. As soon as I got it I had the dealer replace the whole nav unit, buttons and all, and more than a year and a half later everything still looks brand new.

Congrats on the new ride, coming from the fbody world into a V is a whole other animal.. So I have discovered LOL the same but WAY different LOL

luke from lindsay can hook you up with the buttons, haven't seen any aftermarket style... have heard of guys putting on a protective coat prior to putting the new ones in though..

I have 15k miles on mine, all original buttons and none have flaked. I know a lot of people have used a black sharpie to fix that issue cheaply and easily.

Congrats on your new, well new to you, V. Looks like the buttons question has been answered. Also, the Nav disc at $25.00 is a steal. Start saving your mod money, first two things are a UUC or Katech shifter, and if you are not going to mod, get a tune to increase performance and mileage.

Congrats on getting a V.

I think your first mods should be Magnaflow cat back and non-run flat tires. Did a world of difference for my V.

Thanks guys yeah the dealership mailed me the nav disc but the screen says improper disc loaded or some sh**? I dnt think u can install it wrong lol but it is scratched or maybe they sent me one from a different Cadillac? Yea I do feel it needs a shorter throw what's the best bet for a dd? And I will get a handheld programmer. Do those eliminate skip shift? All of my fbodies were eliminated before I bought them. Anyone out there make a quality clear lower light to replace the amber top part in that fog light? I gotta get on the rear end to cut te clunking too. Get a bmr brace? And a better bushing?

The nav discs are not compatible across platforms (except the CTS and CTS- V).

Congrats on the V.

Use driving gloves and the buttons won't chip and flake.

It is the fingernail "gouge" that starts the peeling.

What disc slot did you put it in? The top or the bottom?

Why non run flats? If its for performance, mine seem to stick well. 2.1 60' at a slick track and stick well on the road...but from what I hear they don't last very long..lol. ..not contesting your opinion, just curious

Usually the run flats lead to more hop.
