I like it to but I would NEVER own an auto car myself, especially a vette. For those who dont care and can afford a vette seems to be a pretty good deal

Oh, didn't look at that. I would never own an a4 car either. To me it almost takes the driver out of the driving aspect of the car...

Looks like a really good deal and the owner seems legit. BTW, I love my A4 C5 and would put it up against any other trans out there, it is built though of course. I say buy!

I third this! It was pretty tough keeping up with you on our last downhill Angeles Crest run.

Not a bad vette... Ahhh the battle of Auto over manual, "manual impresses high schoolers, autos win races". I say if you can't drive, you can't drive, whether it be auto or manual.

Because you drive a 6 banger. The hood, tail and wheels don't make it faster. :jest:

No, but for downhill you don't need horsepower (uphill was harder to keep up but still possible due to the turns). You need good brakes and a strong trans for engine braking. You need suspension upgrades to do twisties. Nate was at the head of the pack and always gaining ground over any of the F-bodies he was with, and Nate has an automatic C5. That black Camaro that rows by the Cobra in the infamous Youtube vid? That's an automatic as well.
Automatics can work as well as you want them to, and LS1Adam84's quote is oh so true.

Yeah that was a pretty good run but even in an auto gear selection can make a difference. Since its a built tranny I was in 2nd knowing I can get on it uphill. An auto can still be pretty fun... dont forget the stall converter too. Everyone has different taste but I just wouldnt let a good deal slip just because of the trans style, as long as the car ran good. Something like the trans can always be tackled later. MY stock trans lasted over a year with 450+rwhp and a lot of hard driving so no complaints here.

I totally agree with you there Adam. You simply cannot beat the consistencey off the line of an auto.

Here is where I disagree with you. You don't need to have skills to lauch a stalled auto. Anyone can do it. You can rebut if you want, but it's true.

Well on street tire it takes a little getting used to, then again I can drive no matter what trans is in the car, to me it is the sheer experience of driving that is fun no matter what, I do want an M6 fbody here for cruising on the highway and for doin some twisties.
For drag racing I like having an auto but this will always come down to preference.

Depending on your cars characteristics you do have to get the right rpm at launch. You can either bog the motor or creep off the line if you dont get it right. My best et and 60' was around a 2000rpm launch. I tried different engine speeds and 2000 gave me the best results... on slicks(that is a factor too, to many variables)

Just go to Irwindale. Manual or auto I dont know how some people even open the door to get in their cars without killing themselves or the car. I guess its more about knowing your own car too.

Come on guys, we all know its not the transmission of the car that matters, nor what parts you have on it. Now the amount of stickers and decals... thats what draws the gap between boys, and men.

According to the V-Tech Owners, Tuner and Mods guide article V.XII reads as follows: Sitckers under the hood, if acquired and daring enough, add enough power to grow hairs on your chest.
So my understanding is that they kinda help- that was my own understanding from the translation.
Haha
