User Support & Resources - Need help

Im looking for help on information about the transmission in a 2006 LS2 GTO.

I just bought it 3 months ago and about the second month is started grinding into 1st and 2nd gear. I took it to pontiac and they told me that my synchros were goin bad.

Well i kept driving it just shifting easier into those two gears and about a month later the transmission started to sound like my throw out baring was goin bad and then it started whinning and then made a pop and i lost 5th 6th and reverse. The tranny doesnt make any wierd sounds now or anything.

Does anybody know if a t56 6speed will work in a GTO or know of anybody that rebuilds trannys fairly cheap.

First, welcome, you would be best to try the manual trans forum.

Based on my experience, your issue isn't uncommon - there are a number of sponsors in the manual trans forum that will rebuild them (although your location might add to the costs).
The trans IS a T56 6speed, so another one should work ;)
