My 4L60E Took A Crap, Who Would You Recommend To Have Rebuild It?
So, this is the first 4L60E Car I have Owned. I have heard thet these trannys are a nightmare! So, I am looking for a Street/Strip Trans Build that would see 96% of it's life on the street and maybe 15 passes a year at MAX at the Track. I was also told that I have to get a new Torque Convertor since the trannys is bad, they said to just replace the stall. So What stall company and size would you reccomend on a Mild Modified LS1 370 Hp ? I am looking for a soild tranny that wont break every year!

On the TQ converter I would highly recommend YANK the SS3600 is a great all around unit. I have had mine for 4 years and 500+ quartermile passes behind everything from 400RWHP all the way to my current combo.

i am with black x on this one, if you want a trans thats gonna hold up to some power & last doing it. go with FLT & let them prove to you they are the best 4l60 builder out there......
FLT & a YANK ss3600 stahl converter would be my choice.....
good luck!

i would suggest buying a built one. i dont know how many times ive heard people have shops rebuild theirs only for it to break again not soon after. get it done right the first time and dont have any worries. i called a few local places and found they were almost the same price as buying a new built one. i went with performabuilt.

x2! FLT does it right the first time!!
unlike another sponsor on this site who couldn't build a trans to save his life. Problem after problem after problem. All i can say is BUY A TRANS, NOT ALL THE HYPE THAT GOES WITH IT ALONG WITH A QUICK TURN AROUND TIME. Its all BS
i havnt had one single issue yet with the FLT trans. I highly recommend them to anyone.

I had full bolt ons and 150 shot on my Level 1 trans from them, and never had a problem. It dynoed 427/455 with the 125 shot too. Trans never complained once. I highly recommend them!

Hey I rocked the performa built 4l60e Frank is the man when it comes to customer service and there trannys are proven. I have had 100s of low 10 sec passes on the LV2 tranny and gave it to my brother for his camaro and its still going 3 years later. Thats proven. Get with Frank.

most of the sponsorers here can get you a great transmission. i can only offer my experience with performabuilt. im on the lvl 2 with around 450 rwhp on motor and spaying a 125 shot out of the gate. im always driving on either drag radials or slicks so the transmission never gets a break due to crap traction. this is also in a 4500 lb extended cab silverado, so theres a little more punishment on it than a 450-550 HP camaro at a lighter weight.
as the others said, the customer service cant be touched. ive had more than a few conversations with frank at 2am! he is always willing to offer his help, even if you are not his customer in a few cases that ive seen.
performabuilt 100% IMO. oh and the money you save with performabuilt can go towards a nice converter

Performabuilt here in my crewcab 4 door that has run a 12.25 @ 110MPH,and will be in the 11's very shortly.Have not weighed the truck yet but I would say it is between 4900-5000 pounds.Franks customer service can not be beat,I litterally do not see how it is even possible to have better service and on top of that a badass transmission that works fantastic.
After seeing what TXSilverado has put his Performabuilt level 2 through,I did not think twice.LOL
