Black Vette Owners-Reconsidering Color Choice???

Black Vette Owners-Reconsidering Color Choice???
I ask this question because I love the way that a nice black C6 looks.
However, there are horror stories with the color black (as there are with other colors Im sure, but Im asking anyway) and the way it looks after a while.
So, do any black Corvette owners think that after owning the black car that they shouldnt have bought black?
Or is it all cool (well, not cool, but you know what I mean).
The reason that I ask this question too is because I come from a truck background and generally on a truck that might be off-roaded, black is a bad idea.
So, obviously, you arent gonna wheel a Corvette, but maybe there are other things to worry about that I havent thought about and maybe the color black is a lot more high-maintainence than I thought.

Black is alot more labor intensive to maintain. It shows every flaw, every scratch and every blemish. Basically its a rolling mirror. Don't get me wrong a freshly detailed black vehicle looks amazing but there is 2x as much work involved in keeping it that way.
I have owned 3 black vehicles so I know what all is involved to keep them looking good. If you do scoop up a black Corvette and need to get some polish or wax to keep it looking like new check out my site or shoot me a PM.
This is my best selling polish for black vehicles. Black Beauty will make any dark colored vehicle look slick and wet. Simply buff it into your paint and then remove it with a microfiber towel. Follow up with a nice paint sealant like our Micro Seal 2000 and your freshly polished vehicle will maintain that shine for months. Click either of the pics to read up on each product.

This is MY opinion. Black looks better than any other color when clean. Now with that said, as soon as you back out of your driveway you black car is slowly but surely loosing that shine lol... but i can not settle for another color.. black cars are the best looking...

A clean black vette just can't be beat......................BUT..................tha t last about ten minutes. It's like polished wheels...........look great when cleaned but are dirty within a few minutes.
ALL CORVETTES SHOULD BE RED!

I always tell myself I will never get another black car...I've had 5 since. I just fall in love with the color I guess. Its a pain to maintain, I find myself taking the bike to work everyday even if its going to rain just so the car doesnt get dirty.

My last two cars were black...
One was a daily driver, one was the Firehawk garage queen. The daily driver looked like scum most of the time.... after a while you just don't feel like washing it every single time it rains.
The only other black vehicle I will purchase will be a black C6Zo6 that will be another garage queen. I think that's the best color for a C6, unless it's a daily driver.
I've got a red 'Vette now and a white daily driver... it's working out better this way.

I hate black, BUT, I have a 71 502 4sp vette, C6Z06, and a new ZR1, ALL very black. Still hate the washing/polishing, but if I buy another vette, it will be black as well. Silver looks cleaner longer, but clean black is the shizzle

I'd like to see a picture of the black ZR1 !!! ^^^^
As for my opinion on black vettes, oh yes by far the sexiest of the colors when clean, but a true bitch as soon as they begin to get dirty. Every imperfection is magnified 100x, but to reiterate, when she is clean she looks the BEST. JMO

Black is a bitch, no question. I got rained on last cruise, and noticed that it left water spots. Acid rain from smog? Who knows. Same thing happened to my '06, which was also black. And my 2003 Z06, which was black. It is definitely a pain in the *** to keep looking good, but damn it does look good when clean. I would never buy it on a daily driver, though.
I hate it so much I bought it two more times. This is actually my third black Vette and fourth black vehicle overall.

My C5Z06 is the first black car I've ever owned. Have always owned red before this. Will never own another Red car, or a Black car. I think White or Silver for me from here on out.
