Default Building forged 383 stroker what to do with heads

Should I leave heads stock?? Any recommendations? Machine shop says go with stock cam and maybe mill heads also???? Do not know that much about headwork.. any ideas running on a budget and will be boosting this baby with sts t67

383 with stock heads and cam would fall flat at 4-5k I bet, would be an awesome motor if you were going to pull a boat with it, but from a performance standpoint.. big waste.

With the all stroke setup of a 383 you need a cam and heads setup that can utilize the extra inches, or you'll be very disapointed.

well running short on cash still might get a cam but the stocker heads I have to keep.. Might do some machine work just done know what to improve. With it being boosted and my daily driver. I was completely happy with 10 pounds and my stock ls1 with stock heads. With the stroked 383 I think ill be happy this baby will never see track.

well if youre gonna boost it, then don't mill the heads. unless you're putting in boost pistons.

a better cam will show WAY more gains than spending a little money on the heads...at least at this stage.

a used cam for $200-300 could give you upwards of 100hp over the stocker.

$300 spent on stock heads would get you about 15hp

look into some 317 heads off a 6.0, they're like 243's but with lower compression. thats a cheap alternantive.
