Default We have a bet with some ford guys.. help us win this bet

A buddy of mine has a 305 TBI camaro that weighs less than 3000 lbs. It has a performer intake and a carb and headers. We just blew up the T5 trans. A stall and auto trans is going in

Here is the bet. A bunch of ford guys bet us we can't get this car in the 12's with the motor that is in the car. Here is the kicker: They say we can spray it all we want and it won't go 12's. I know damn well we can get this car in the 12's. We have an LT1 cam laying around and we have 305 TPI heads too. The motor has to look and sound like a 305 TBI car. They already know about the stall and auto going in. The bet totals up to 900 bucks as of right now.

We are going to take this money from them. I think the setup we have will go 12's on the spray. What do ya'll guy's think? Do ya'll have any parts to donate?

anything is possible with enough spray. it may only make one 12 sec pass but it can happen.

Pft, i hit a 92 RS with a 200 shot for a year before it let go due to FP failure, you will be fine with a 175 shot, just make sure you have good tires and you will be taking the ford boys money no problem.

The owner of the car just bought a rear end with 3.23 gears in it and a th350 and a 3500 stall that we have to install. We are going to put in that lt1 cam in and those tuned port heads just for good measure. We have a set of M/T drag radials going on too.

Considering a third-gen starts off 200 pounds less than a 4th gen, and a 4th gen can hit 3200 pretty easily.. you can do the math.

323 is really gonna hurt you ...but you shouldnt have to worry about spinning lol for 100 bucks you can get a 373 or 411 from jegs or summit itll pick up like you wouldnt believe.

With the stall the size it is we don't want too much gear in it that way it won't spin out of the hole. Plus, we are doing this on a budget so the gear is a no go. We got the rear for 175 bucks with the 3.23 with a posi, which is better than the 3.08 one-tire fryer that was on there.

They gave us one month to get the car to run the number. I am off this week, so me and my buddy will most likely be putting the trans and converter in and the rear.
