Why is it rough? Either the cam wasnt made properly or your lifters are poo and need to be replaced.

I doubt a shop can fix it without messing with the cam specs. Fixing it would require removing material and that would throw everything out of wack.

I had a cam do that exact same thing. It was very prominent on one lobe in specific.

Unfortunatly, there isn't much you can do about it. I heard that certain cam blanks had soft spots in them, and thats what causes it.

If you are through the hardened surface you likely have a paper weight.

You can make a nice lamp out of it, unfortunately you don't have a lot of other options.

If your cam lobes look like the first cam lobe...

Your in deep ****. The guy who did my head cam set up was highly regarded by a man who has been in the business for years. The guys is no more than an amateur. All my intake lobes are cracked, w/ deep wear marks after 5,800 miles only yes 5 thousand eight hundred only. The shop is out of Dallas Texas if any one wants to know where not to take their cars to shoot me a pm I'll tell you my night mare. Which consisted of a leaking front plate gasket, leaking heads, a tune that would have surely made my engine blow if a true professional would not have rectified it, and on and on and on... The best part the guy is not taking any responsibility for his shitty work.
