Default anyone with 29 or 29.5 tires

How much work is it to fit a 29 without minitub?

And will it work with a 10" with 7.50BS I run a 28 10.50 now and want some more rollout

Its been done, but I tried it and although I got it to fit it still rubbed alot. If you don't mind cutting the front of the 1/4 its easier, I wasn't willing to.

Do a search in here for 315 DR's without mini tub or something, it has been done, just can't remember the guys name who did it.

He has been running a 315 Mt radial i believe for a while. there's a thread from a while back titled "315 radials stock width rear no mini tub"

but i plan to wedge them in my car, dunno haven't got it back together yet tho, i know you'll need adjustable, if not offset LCA's and probably have to do a little trimming to the rear of the wheel well (bumper cover)

Yeah, thats it.

I tell ya, I tried it. I had a plasma cutter and everything, just couldn't make the room. I had clearance at the 1/4 panel, cut the rear bumper and slid the rear back just a little, but still hit the wheel well inside. It appeared to clear at first, but as soon as I moved the car I heard rubbing.

Like I said, it can be done. I think the problem area is the front side of the wheel well. Might help if the car isn't real low.

i'm not too sure why they'd fit on a Bird a lot easier, i actually haven't ever seen them on any car that wasn't mini tub'd other than the one we're talking bout.

The firebird 1/4 panel is slightly wider, thats why some of those guys get away with a 6.5" backspace wheel when a camaro has to have 7.5" on a 10" rim.

I'm going to try a 30" tire on my car, but I think I'm going to use a 295/65r/15

I had to "FIT" my tires on my car a long time ago, but they will fit right on my brothers firebird with no problems

I had 29x10 Hoosiers on a 7.625" BS 15x10 Holeshot before the minitub job. Just had the bumper cover cut, no quarter panel work.

They did not hook too well though...

i use hoosier 30x10.5's w/a 7.5 bs
you have to stretch the front and rear bumper and cut out the bumpstop and the metal over it, then weld the layers of metal together, (mig is fine). after you still need a BFH to beat the inside front of the wheelwell so it won't rub. I can be done in an afternoon with a BFH, cut-off/grinding wheel, sawzall, you get the picture. You should also roll the top fender lip so it won't cut the tire on turns and prime and paint all the bare metal. Tire will sit nice like in my sig picture and if you click on GMHTP link in my sig and scroll through the pics you can see how the tire will sit when it's done.

What width wheels are the 28's on? If you look at the roll-out of a 28" on a 10" vs. an 8" wheel, there will be a difference (saw it on my brothers Nova).

So if you have an unmounted Hoosier, it may not be that easy to tell until it is mounted up.

We have found though that Hoosier's catalog dimensions are not too accurate, and in reality they run a bit bigger (created problems one time with section width not being as advertised).

It is funny, once the car was mini-tubbed with all of the adjustable suspension parts and W tires, it did not wheelie like that any more.

In that picture, it just had a cheap Jegs torque arm, non-adjustable LCAs with poly bushings, stock springs, and QA1's.

I'd have to measure it, I don't know. It's got a little rake to it but not that much.

Over on Yellowbullet.com, there is an M/T tire forum. It may be worth asking about this there.

My M/T's always ran smaller than Hoosiers and ran pretty true to the catalog sizing.

I've run 29.5x10.5S on my trans am w/o any tubs. They really weren't that hard to fit. The rear bumper cover and metal behind it obviously had to be cut and the stock wheel wells were hammered for clearance. I didn't cut any of the 1/4 panel in front of the wheel opening.
