Default Head gasket!




ok so im buying head gaskets
the bore is 3.910
do i go with 3.910 bore gasket or 3.950?
tell me why.

3.910.

The 3.950 would be if it were bored out. Maybe someone can second that

Call the gasket company and ask them. Easiest and probably fastest way to get your answer. FWIW I'm running a 3.909 bore and run a 3.940 gasket, as directed by Cometic.

i was looking into ssc copper gasket but they only have the 3.950 i suppose gasket companies prefer that you go .04 over?

There is no need to "suppose" or assume. Just call them and ask them. If a gasket company can't tell you what gasket to run for what bore on your block then you probably shouldn't buy gaskets from them.
