Default Honest opinion of 200hit on my car..read

I've been running my 150 shot on the car every weekend at the track, and last week I threw in the 200 nitrous jet and next step up on fuel jet to make sure I had one guy covered, (its heads up drags).

My car has all the right junk on it to stay together, BUT it still on stock pistons. How long, honestly, do you think I could shoot the 200 Before it popped a headgasket or took out a ring/piston?

It ran great on the 200, and I have Dyno tuned it on the 150, its rich @ 11.5 AFR just to be safe. I'm not concerned at ALL on the 150 shot, ever, but the 200 scares me.

Just a quick rundown on my setup

NX wet kit w/ the big noids, 6an, purge, HSW Standalone w/ walbro and regulator for the fuel solenoid, .030 gapped tr6s, 15lb bottle w/ warmer set to 1050psi.

I'm sure people ask this crap all the time, and i've got plenty of nitrous experience..I also have a ls1 in the shop that couldn't handle a 225 shot, but it didn't have any supporting mods to help it at all and a stock tune(buddies car).

I KNOW the pistons in these motors really dont need more than 150 sprayed at them, but I'm thinkin 200 isn't that much more...haha.

Serious answers would be great. Thanks guys

Its going to be harder on the stock rods/pistons, but many people do it. Check your plugs religiously, especially at first. they tell you so much more than the knock sensors do. It wont take much of an error to break the stock motor.

Rich is not safe!

You'll kill it just as fast if not faster than if it was lean.
Get the tune closer and you wont need the 200 hit.
IF its not over fueled or overtimed it will last on a 200 shot.

First the stock motor can take a well tuned 200 for ever. 2nd RICH IS NOT SAFE. If you Rrun it rich on big shots you will hurt the motor. did you pull timming ? IF its rich and to much timming you will hurt the motor. What do the plugs look like....Wheres the timming mark? where the fuel ring? whats the barrell look like?

I think I was a little confusing on my first post...i'm not overfueling the car to be safe, it just seems to like 11.5 AFR. What are yall running? I know, check plugs again.

It should not like 11.5 unless you have to much timming in and it needs the fuel to help not detonate. it should be closer to 12-12.5 but do not lean it uot untill you take timming out if it needs to be out. only the plugs can tell you but on a 220 shot you need around 18-20 total degrees and be around 12.2 to start.

I would also step up to a ngk #7 non projected plug and maybe even 8's if needed. But those tr6's are not a good plug for what you are doing. It is way hot and if you continue on it, it is going to hurt parts.

good luck.

I figured i'm pushing it on tr6s haha.

I did get it setup decent today around 12.3 and 20 degrees total on the 200, still on the 6s(no time before track) Went 7.05@almost 101, but I spun bad every pass, and i'm not hitting it hard until at least 50-60ft out. 1.69 was best 60 I could muster tonight. a tenth slower than its gone on a 150. I think i'm going to get it worked out, go back to a 150, get that tuned in good, and just load up the other file if I need to run the 200.
