What supporting mods? headers, exhaust, pulley, intake, etc? I would guess a full bolt-on LS6 with a hotcam would be around 400 RWHP and still have great driveability. It's not the route I would go since there's LOTS of better cams out there.

Agreed... one of the last cams I would pick unless valvespring life was my priority over power.

I ran the hc a few years back for about a year. Unless you're getting it for free, or close to it, it'd skip it. Or unless you are wanting to stay with the ls6 springs. Imo it's a step backwards with all the other cams on the market today. You could get a little bigger cam and still get better drivabilty over the hc. There's also better springs out that you wouldn't have to change once a year with a moderate cam as well.

Or you could get a ASA cam 226/236 525/525 110lsa and stick with your LS6 springs. It doesnt matter how big a stick you put in your car,its where you want the power. Most cams no matter how big or small usually only make around 30-45hp.A bigger cam the higher RPM range the smaller the more tourqe and lower RPM range. But matched with a set of LTs and iv seen some VERRY nice results of this cam...400+

I am getting the cam in a trade with a car. The car is a 01 Z28 with LS6, 4L80E, 12 moser. He has all new forged internals for the engine and a sts turbo set up. I was going to build a 5.3 with forged parts for the camaro. And use the LS6 for my 79 Malibu build.

So the motor needs to be drivable, I will use headers, standard accessories, LS6 intake, so on... Nothing to wild. I do want a little thump out of the cam, again nothing to wild. Does anyone have some sound clips of a GM hot cam at idle?

go to ls1sounds.com.And youtube. If you want a small cam with alot of bark do the ASA cam.Becuase the ex duration is 236 and the lsa is 110,it is verry mean.Is your goals to keep the turbo. If so you might wanna look into turbo/blower cam with a high LSA.

The turbo is going to stay in the Camaro and will have a turbo cam. The LS6 is going in my Malibu and will be N.A.
