Arrow Tires For A 16x8 Rim??

Now i know i am on borrowed time with my 10 bolt, so i was thinking on getting a pair of DRs to throw on my 16x8 trans am rims...

Now here are my questions... Should i go with the following.... M/T, Nitto or BFGs??????

What size??? 255/50 or if i get M/T 26x10.5/16... Here is where i am confused. How can a 10.5" wide tire fit on an 8" wide rim?

Basically when the cooler weather hits here in Chicago, i am taking off my TTMs and throwing on my OEM wheels.. I pulled some weight, and with smaller tires (less rotational mass) hopefully i will get my 11 sec slip....

I've already ran a 1.9 60' (on my 17" TTMs with 315/35 Nitto STREET TIRES in the rear). My best time is a 12.30 @ 115.56 launching at 3k shifting at 6700....

Thanks for the help....

the 255/50 radial will be what you use. plenty of racers use a 10.5 tire on an 8 inch rim (i run a 28 x 10.5 x 15 on a 15 x 8 inch rim).

Also, the ET Street bias ply 10.5 inch is not the tread width, it is the section width (versus an et drag where a 26 x 10 would have a 10 inch wide contact patch). The ET Street 26 x 10.5 is likely about 8.5 wide on the tread/contact patch.

Get the ET Street drag radial 16", 255/50 like Villain said. I pull 1.60's all day long with them. A 1.56 was the best for me

If you get the ET street bias ply get 26x11.5. I have 26x10.5 and it needs a wider contact patch for sure.

Remember to specify which ET Street you are looking for, as there is the ET Street radial and the ET Street bias ply (like a slick with softer sidewalls, grooves and a DOT rating).
