Default Long Distance Driving???

I plan on making a trip to see the family in October from Tampa to Tennessee. Its about 650 miles each way. Do you think that with my mods that I might run into problems? I've never drove a modded car that long? I will be putting in a Lvl 3 Monster clutch as well. Mods in sig...

See my sig, and I also have an EWP from Meziere since 2006.

I have had zero issues making long trips. Detroit to Dallas and back is over 2400 miles !! Detroit to Atlanta and back is over 1400 miles. Did the Detroit to Dallas run multiple times, zero issues, the Detroit to Atlanta and back with no issues. My 402 actually got 27 mpg on the way back from Vengeance Racing !! Have fun on your drive.

I would say to do a good inspection on your car before heading out. Inspect tires, check all fluids etc etc. Other then that fill up the tank and go !!

15,000 miles in 5 months in a cammed car. I think if you don't have any leaks, overheating, or bad noises to begin with...you should be fine

EWP's can go out at anytime so don't count on ever being safe.

OP, sounds like your car would be fine to make the trek, LSx engines have this thing about reliabilty, I don't know what it is

I didn't post it to say you are guaranteed safe. The only guarantee you have in life is Death and Taxes. I posted it to say that I've had no problems at all after all the modding done to my car since 2004 when I put on my first mods. (Bullets and VaraRam) All the way to my current setup (see sig) Also the EWP has proven to be very reliable, just like Meziere said it would be.

.....as mentioned, as long as nothing is obvious and wrong currently, you should be more then fine for a long voyage. My car in its growth, has always gotten me safely where I needed even with the big mods.

I've made several 3000 mile trips and one 5000 mile trip with my Ls6, 400 rwhp and Ozzy clutch. No issues. I just installed a built Ls3 427 making almost 500 rwhp and 390 gears. I plan on taking it on a 5K mile trip next month. If it breaks, I'll stop and fix it, or rent a trailer and tow it home if I can't.
