Default ASA Cam with 1.8 rockers, will ls6 springs work??

I got a LS1 with the GM ASA cam, im thinking about going to a 1.8 roller rockers. Im just wondering if my LS6 springs will still be ok to use or if i need to go with a different spring. Also wondering what the 1.8s would take my lift up to????

I wouldn't do it, their is way more than just max lift to picking a spring. That is a pretty aggressive cam with 220+ on intake 230+ on exhaust and on a 110 LSA, a little too aggressive for the 90 pounds or whatever the LS6 springs seat at.

I'd look into Comp or Pac's that'll drop in, a valve spring is one of the last areas you want to fail, even if it doesn't totally fail valve float/bounce will kill hp.

Gm recommends spring part# 12586484 which I am pretty sure is the stock replacement spring for a LS6

Your lift will go up to .555 which the LS6 springs will handle, but you are getting a little close to the edge. PAC 1216s are good to .600 and the PAC 1518s are good to .650.

Try it if you dare, but there is a possibility they won't work and you'll just float valves a little and you'll have to change them. Then there's the possibility they float or drop into your pistons and you'll have to buy a new set of springs for your new motor anyway.

I would try to find horsepower somewhere else.. good luck!

thanks for the input guys i think im jus gonna keep it the way it is for now, then later put in a bigger cam and the right springs for the cam. I've decided to go with a set of 243's instead of rockers.

I had missed the 1.8 rocker part. I would have to agree that I would run a little stronger spring than stock LS6.
