Default power steering leak.BAD

the power steering fluid is leaking out of my 2000 camaro completely a few short minutes after driving it i replaced a seal on the line that it seemed to come from and it is still pouring out. Is there any solution to this problem? Does it happen a lot on a lower mileage camaro? do I have to replace the whole steering rack to fix the problem?

thanks for your help

You mean it is leaking from where the line attaches to the rack?

get some cleaner, jack it up, clean it, let it dry, get a buddy, start it and steer it and look for it to leak, people can't diagnose a problem like this over the internet, hoses and seals fail all the time. if you dont want to look at it, pay a shop 80$ an hour to tell you...

Where did you get the new seal from?

the seal was from a chevrolet dealership and btw I was simply asking if this is an frequently occuring problem I have had a mechanic tell me that you have to put a whole new steering rack in it to solve the problem but thanks for your input bob try to be a little more helpful instead of telling me something i already know..and yes the 1 out of the 4 lines that attach to the steering rack is leaking

Cool. Yes, I've seen a number of posts with the same problem, but its usually fixed with a new seal from the dealership. What did you tighten the line down with?

Can you see the leak coming from the outside of the fitting, where the seal would be? Maybe the flare of the fitting itself is messed up? (I would think you'd see oozing from between the tube and nut in that case.)
