Default Question on F-body clutch master cylinder

Is there a bend in the external shaft of the clutch master cylinder to align with the clutch pedal ? I recently removed the clutch master cylinder, and saw a substantial bend, and didn't know if this should be there.

How hard should it be to push the rod into the cylinder when removed from the car?
