The box doesn't really have to handle the power. All it does is provide a 5 volt control signal to the coils.

Since you are boosted you will probably want to upgrade to better coils. The LS1 coils are the weakest of the lot. LS2 coils have 4 times as much spark energy as the LS1 coils, and the truck coils are hotter yet.

The coils have different connectors, so you may have to do some mods depending upon your harness. Read around, there are plenty of write ups on it.

That's a different question. I hadn't heard that one before. Don't know what to tell you there

MSD has user forums on their web site. You might try asking over there.

This doc has pictures. The truck coils have aluminum cooling fins. Just noticed it also list which vehicles had the better coils

http://www.megamanual.com/seq/coils.htm

The 6010 box has a setting in the software to select between LS1 and LS2 coils. So it supports either one.

Pop, I'm not familiar with that setting, where's it located? I have version 3.19...

When you hook up a laptop to program the box it is on one of the menu pages. I am not sure which one, been a while since I programmed the box. It is on the same menu that sets rev limits and selects between a 1 or 3 bar MAP sensor.

Guess I should be careful, I have a 6012 box made for an LS2. But I would imagine the software is the same for the 6010.
