Exclamation ls7 lifter and pushrod ?

ok so looking on tech there are some mixed reviews ...
will the standard 7.4" pushrods be fine to run with new ls7 lifters? or are they too long?

i dont want oil pressure issues, nor have to get another set of ls7's before i see oil issues

or would a 7.35" be best....

how are your ls7 lifters holding up?

Its best to measure.. Its quite easy accually. And yes the 7.4 are too long since the ls7 lifters go less in into the lifter than the ls1s. I have 7.4s in mine and they are too long ill measure mind before the initial start up.

They will fit stock heads as long as they are not milled.

As long as the base of the cam lobes are not off then you are ok. Or the head is not milled then you are ok. You should have .05-.09 of an inch for the lifters to work right witch is between one too two turns on the rocker when there is no more slack in the push rod then torque to 22 lbs. You have to check to see if you make between one to two turns on the torque rench then you are in the ok. You can only get push rods in eather 7.4-7.35-7.30-7.25 ect... So thats why it is between one too two turns.

if you are merely changing out the lifters from ls1 style to ls7, no pushrod length change needs to be made..
however if you have changed any components, such as going from stock to performance cam (smaller base circle), milled heads, thinner head gasket, then yes, pushrod length needs to be checked...

I would like to add... That if you are going to be going with that cam you need to check piston to valve! If I'm not mistaken you will have PTV issues with stock pistons.

Tsp can make the 2.5s so that you don't have to fly cut as much from what I've read. But you will have
To fly cut the pistons if I'm not mistaken also.
